A38 crash involving pedestrian, cars and bike

The A38 in Plymouth has been closed this morning after a multi-vehicle crash. Devon and Cornwall Police have said a pedestrian, three cars and a motorbike are involved. At 7.32am, roads and traffic monitoring service Inrix reported that the westbound carriageway had been closed and traffic was queueing because of a four car collision between Forder Valley Road and Manadon Roundabout.

Police have confirmed traffic heading to Cornwall is now being taken off at Forder Valley Interchange, reports Inrix. Sensors show eastbound traffic, heading towards Exeter, is also slow. An Inrix alert at 8.56am reads: “A38 The Parkway Westbound closed, queueing traffic due to serious accident, four cars involved from B3413 Forder Valley Road (Forder Valley Interchange) to A386 Outland Road (Manadon Roundabout).

Congestion to past the Marsh Mills roundabout, and also along the B3413 Forder Valley Road as traffic diverts around the closure. “Local routes through Plymouth are also heavily congested as people deviate to find their own diversions. “Affecting traffic heading into Plymouth.

Traffic is slow on the other side to look. It is taking around 30 minutes to reach the closure where there are also reports of a broken down car. Diversion – go north-west along the B3413 to the A386, then turn left and head South back to the Manadon Interchange. ”
