Fortunately, there were no serious injuries in this crash, with Herts Fire Control saying that the occupants of the car got a ‘very lucky escape’.

In a tweet, a spokesperson for the fire crews said: “A very lucky escape for the occupants of the black vehicle on the A414 Gascoyne Way in Hertford. “Expect delays in the area.” One photo from the scene shows a damaged black vehicle surrounded by emergency services units.

Most of the front of the car has been completely destroyed and the windscreen has been severely cracked.

The car is next to a lorry parked on the side of the road, but it is not clear if the lorry was involved or not.
