Broken down AA tow truck hauled away by police on M5

An AA lorry has been rescued by the police after breaking down on the M5. The tow truck, which would normally tow other stricken vehicles to safety, found itself in need of help on Monday (August 31). Police were called and officers managed to move the large truck off the motorway with a BMW 4×4.

“Thanks to all for their patience while traffic was held for a short time.” Locals reacted to the incident on social media. One commenter wrote: Oh my god, bet they were embarrassed!”

While another person wrote: “And the AA called themselves the 4th emergency service!

“On a serious note, I hope everyone was safe, I have broken down myself in our works recovery lorry so it can be a little embarrassing!”
