Main road to Devon seaside town closed after crash

The main road to a Devon seaside town has been closed this morning because of a crash. Roads and traffic monitoring service Inrix first reported the collision, on the A375 between Honiton and Sidmouth, at 8.03am. In an update at 8.23am, Inrix said the road was closed due to a crash at Putts Corner, near the Hare and Hounds pub.

Traffic in the area is said to be slow, as result of the road closure. Police have said they were called to reports of a two vehicle collision at Putts Corner at 7.55am – and a woman is with paramedics but no detail of injury or severity is currently available. Scroll down for the latest updates.

It has been a grim few days on the region’s roads, with two deaths on the A38 and a woman left in a critical condition after a Ford Transit van crashed into stationary breakdown recovery truck on the A30.
