Back to Gallery CHESHIRE — Police have identified the a man killed in a car crash on Route 10 Tuesday as a 24-year-old Meriden resident. Jason Ventura died from injuries sustained in the accident, Lt.

Michael Durkee of the Cheshire Police Department said Thursday. Police were called to the 1500 block of Highland Avenue around 11:10 p.m. for a two-car collision involving a passenger sedan and a pickup truck, Durkee said. Ventura was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said he was an occupant of one of the vehicles, but it remains unclear whether he was a driver or passenger, and which vehicle he was in. “Others involved in the collision were transported to local hospitals for injuries sustained during the collision,” Durkee said in an earlier prepared statement. The Naugatuck Valley Collision Investigation Team is investigating the accident.

Any witness or persons with information are asked to contact Cheshire Officer Kristian Johnson at 203-271-5544.
