Queens Road crash: Boy, 12, taken to hospital after being hit by car

A 12-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in south Bristol. Emergency services were called to the crash on Queens Road in Bishopsworth just before 2pm today (September 7). The road was temporarily closed, but has now reopened.

In a statement, Avon and Somerset Police said: “Police responded to a report from the ambulance service at about 1.50pm today (Monday, September 7) regarding a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Queens Road, Bishopsworth, outside the Queens Head pub. “The road was temporarily closed to traffic and the pedestrian, a 12-year-old boy, was taken to hospital with what are thought to be non-life-threatening injuries.” Get all your local traffic news, powered by In Your Area:

The police statement said no-one else was injured in the incident and the road was re-opened at approximately 2.50pm.

In a statement, South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust said they were called to the crash at 1.44pm.

The ambulance service said they treated “an injured male child”, who was transported to hospital for further care.
