Stores Supervisor, Washington, Tyne And Wear

Would you like to play a key role in a busy warehouse managing others? We currently have a vacancy for a Stores Supervisor at our site in Washington. As a Stores Supervisor, you will be supervising the operations of the warehouse including receiving, storing, issuing and dispatch of products to support the business requirements.

Supervising a team of 6 personnel you will be expected to manage performance, holidays, training, sickness, absence, allocation of work and all other aspects included in this busy role. This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop your role and team ensuing the team is effective through continuous improvement. You will supervise others developing them as well as yourself and work to achieve short- and long-term goals within your busy department.

Your main responsibilities as a Stores Supervisor will involve: Ensuring the Safety of the Stores team and area in line with business SHE requirements at all times Manage inventory in line with storage space available and business targets.

Ensuring goods are received into SAP system accurately; stock figures are accurate and updated; Ensure the availability of products to meet production schedules, and products are shipped to schedule; Own the relationship with relevant sub-contractors ensuring performance in line with contractual requirements;

Monitor and control variable overhead spend relating to indirect materials and overtime, including the annual creation of departmental budgets; Implementation of effective Stores KPI’s considering both team and sub-contractor performance; Ensure business Export Control procedures are adhered to in relation to despatches from site, including appropriate documentation required for export sales.

Your skills and qualifications: Essential Proven Stores/Warehouse Experience in an Engineering/Volume Manufacturing Environment in a supervisory role

Knowledge of Inventory Control Methodologies Knowledge of Material Handling Regulations Knowledge and Experience using SAP

Desirable Awareness of Chemical/Hazardous material handling and storage regulations Experience of implementing process change to support SAP upgrade

Fork Lift Truck License What we’re looking for in you: To be effective in this supervisory role your soft skills will be essential, these will include good organisation skills, effective leadership skills, you will be resilient, tenacious and be willing to accept new challenges.

Flexibility and working in a team will be essential as well. Location: Washington, UK Salary: Up to GBP33,919 per annum
