Truck and trailer stolen from Penrith haulage company

An HGV and trailer have been stolen from a haulage company in Penrith. Police have confirmed that on Saturday September 26, at approximately 10.15pm, an HGV and Trailer were stolen from a compound off Mardale Road in Penrith. Two people were seen around the compound at approximately 9pm prior to the theft.

The HGV cab was white with a red stripe and the trailer was red with ‘Alan Glenridding’ branding down the sides. The cab was recovered at 11.45pm by police from a layby on the A6. Police in Warrington recovered the trailer on September 27 by following information passed from members of the public.

The contents of the trailer, which included milkshakes and chocolate were found to be stolen. Investigations into the incident are ongoing. Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact DC 2218 Richard Scoffham on 101, option 2, extension 42218 quoting incident number 273 of 26th September.
