A40 closed after serious crash between Oxford and Cassington

A MAJOR road has been brought to a standstill after a serious crash in the early hours of this morning. Thames Valley Police is on the scene of the incident on the A40 between Oxford and Cassington where a truck and another vehicle collided. The road is currently closed in both directions while emergency services are at the scene and police carry out an investigation.

Police alerted people of the closure at 2.26am on social media. One Oxford resident David Patchett commented that he witnessed the serious crash. He said: “I was first on scene and I am still shaky now.

“I need my mind to rest.”
