HGV driver caught over the drink drive limit by police

A HGV driver has been caught by police for driving “significantly over” the legal drink drive limit. Officers working on Operation Steerside came across the vehicle on the road in Keighley and asked the lorry driver to pull over. “Turns out he was significantly over the drink drive limit and will now await his day in court,” a spokesperson for Steerside said.

Out of two breath tests, the driver blew 137 milligrams and 136 milligrams.

In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, the alcohol limit for drivers is 35 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath.

One follower responded to the Tweet by saying:

As a cyclist and a car driver, I thank you for your hard work catching these people. pic.twitter.com/7EWDQtL9zG
