Live Cambridge M11 traffic updates after person injured in car and lorry crash

Queues of four miles are stretching back after a crash on the M11 this Tuesday morning (October 6). A crash involving a car and a lorry has caused serious delays on the motorway at junction 12 with the A603 Barton Road at Cambridge. The accident happened on the southbound carriageway, and one lane is currently blocked.

Police, the fire service and ambulances are on the scene, and someone has been injured according to an official report. A police statement said: “M11 J12 southbound. Police on scene of injury road traffic accident.

East of England Ambulance and Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue also on scene. “Heavy congestion in the area. Use alternative routes.

Expect delays.” Congestion is building behind it, and is current stretching back around four miles, having reached the Girton interchange at junction 14 with the A14. Currently travel time between junction 14 and junction 12 is estimated at around 20 minutes as traffic crawls past the accident in only one lane.
