Person cut from vehicle following crash on main road between Cardiff and Barry

A person was cut out of a vehicle following a crash on the main road between Cardiff and Barry. Cardiff Road in Barry was closed in both directions for around two hours as emergency services dealt with the incident which happened after 11.30am on Wednesday, October 14. The incident, which happened between Fford Y Mileniwm and McDonalds, was described as “serious” in a Tweet by South Wales Police

A spokesperson for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed one person required extrication from a vehicle. They said: “At approximately 11:42am on Wednesday the 14 of October, 2020, we received reports of a one vehicle road traffic collision on Cardiff Road, Barry. “Multiple crews attended the scene and one person required extrication.

“The incident concluded at approximately 12:14pm.”

Traffic in the area has returned to normal.
