As it happened: Lorry and tractor collide on A55 near Cheshire
A collision between a lorry and tractor left part of the A55 in Cheshire blocked this afternoon. The HGV collided with the central reservation on the eastbound side of the carriageway near Chester. Emergency services were at the scene of the accident for nearly three hours between junction 38 A483 Wrexham Road (Posthouse Roundabout) and junction 39 A41 (Sainsbury’s / Boughton Heath Roundabout).
The crash is believed to have happened shortly after 11am on Tuesday (January 26). No-one has been injured in the collision. An eye-witness tweeted Cheshire Live and said: “Crash just happened on the A55 between junction 38 and Huntington J39.
“Lorry driver was okay as was stood outside the van. Didn’t see the crash as was a fair few cars on front but we managed to get past. Lorries are stuck as no space.”
Traffic monitoring site, Inrix, were reporting that there were delays in the area of up to 15 minutes.
