“South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service worked hard to get the blaze under control, using a foam system to put the fire out.”

The driver managed to get to safety and is understood not to have been harmed in the incident, but it was a ‘terrifying experience’ for them nonetheless, said the authority. Highways England added that motorists should be aware that two lanes remain closed at the scene while recovery and resurfacing work continues overnight.
