Live updates: Car on its side on M1 after crash with HGV
There is a partial closure of the M1 in Leicestershire this morning after a car and a lorry collided. The car was left on its side after the smash, shortly before 9am this morning, and the two occupants had to be rescued from the vehicle by firefighters. Police and the ambulance service have also attended the scene of the crash, which is near to Shepshed.
One of the two occupants of the car was being treated at the scene by paramedics for injuries they sustained.
One lane has had to be closed and there are queues on the southbound M1 between junctions 23 and 22 as a result of the crash.
