Lorry wedged down narrow lane for more than 24 hours

An operation to move a lorry which has been stuck down a narrow lane in Truro since yesterday morning (January 12) is being carried out. The vehicle has been wedged down Treliske Lane, which links the B3284 and Kenwyn Hill to the A390 and Treliske, since around 8.10am on Tuesday, blocking off traffic attempting to use the popular rat-run. The lorry had been trying to make a delivery to the area when it got stuck near Truro Golf Club.

Efforts to removed it from the lane yesterday were called off when it became too dark, with Jenia Geraghty writing on Facebook: “They’ve given up recovery for the evening and the road is still blocked. Starting again tomorrow morning.” Recovery work is being carried out at the moment and as of 10am, the lorry had been moved about 100m backwards from where it had been overnight.
