The northbound carriageway was closed between junction 13 of the M4 in Berkshire and the Chilton Interchange. Emergency services were at the scene of what Highways England called a ‘serious incident’ – with the road completely closed until around 7.15am.
One lane was then shut until shortly after 8.15am. A car and a lorry were involved in the crash according to traffic data company Inrix – with the crash first reported at around 6.30am. A second accident also took place in the queue for the first one.
