Arrests after police swoop on military-style truck in Caernarfon town centre
A man is set to appear in court after being charged following a significant police incident in Caernarfon. It comes after officers were called to Pool Street in the town centre yesterday. Police swooped on a military-style truck which had been parked on the street on Thursday afternoon.
A number of officers were at the scene to assist in the operation. Two people were arrested following the incident. Today, North Wales Police issued a statement and said: “A 38-year-old man from Caernarfon has been charged with an offence under Section 4 of the Public Order Act 1986.
“He will appear at Magistrates Court at a later date.” The statement added that a 45-year-old woman also from Caernarfon has been released on bail pending further investigation. Neither individual has been named.
An eyewitness, who did not wish to be named, told North Wales Live yesterday: “I was walking home from work when I saw a lot of commotion around the van.
“I walk up and down Pool Street to and from work every day and I know the van has been there since at least Monday.
“I could hear a woman’s voice shouting hysterically inside the living compartment while a crowd – including some police officers in face masks – had gathered outside.”
