Live updates: Refuse truck overturns in high winds on A607 near Melton

Melton Borough Council has issued a statement about the incident. A spokesperson said: “At 12pm today, Tuesday February 23, a vehicle operated by waste contractor, Biffa, was involved in an incident on the A607 Leicester Road near the Frisby turn off, just outside Melton Mowbray. “There were three waste operatives in the vehicle at the time, two were taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary as a precautionary measure and one has returned to the depot.”
They added: “The refuse collection vehicle is in the process of being recovered.
“No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
“An investigation is underway and we will have more information in due course.”
