Lorry driver caught on phone on A50 is fined

Police have been left stunned after spotting a lorry driver talking on his mobile phone while driving down a busy road. Officers from Staffs Police Road Policing Unit had been out and about on the A50 in East Staffordshire yesterday, Friday, February 19, when they passed the HGV. As they were driving past they noticed the driver was on talking his phone which was in his right hand, which officers have dubbed “unbelievable”.

The officers were left stunned and he was told to pull over. Police have now issued him with penalty points on his licence and he will also be fined, they warned.
