The fire service has shared photos of the devastating aftermath of a crash on the M6 after the road was closed for over 20 hours. The motorway was fully closed in both direction s between Junction 17 for Sandbach and Junction 16 for Crewe on Tuesday, after a fuel tanker struck a bridge. A second serious road traffic accident was declared 30 minutes later, forcing a full closure between Junction 17 to 18 southbound. The crash involved a heavy goods vehicle, which was carrying a ‘significant quantity’ of alcohol, and a van.
