Police and fire crews descend on A63 service station after crash closes road

Brough Road was left resembling a “sea of blue flashing lights” after a crash closed the road close to the A63. The incident happened at around 7am on Tuesday, February 23, with police reporting that the road was closed between the South Cave service station and the turn off for the A63. One woman, who was driving by the scene on her way to work, said there were “about 10 police cars, a fire engine and about five unmarked police cars holding up traffic” near the westbound lane of the A63.

Shortly afterwards, police confirmed that the road had been closed because of a crash. Posting on Twitter at just after 7.20am on Tuesday morning, a spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “Emergency services are in attendance at a road traffic collision on Brough Road, South Cave. “The road is currently closed between the South Cave Service Station and the A63 turn off.”
