Israel has started easing lockdown restrictions as the number of people vaccinated against coronavirus nears 50 per cent. Shops, libraries and museums will be allowed to open from Sunday with social distancing and masks still required. It comes as Matt Hancock rubbished claims that Britain could host the entire Euros this year after making significant strides with its vaccination programme.

Official figures released by the government on Saturday showed that 17,247,442 people in the UK have had their first dose of a vaccine.

Boris Johnson has also said every adult in the UK will be offered a vaccine by the end of July.
