Hollywood Exports vintage clothing store on track to open in East Lancashire by April 12

A brand new vintage clothing store is on track to open in the heart of East Lancashire. At the beginning of March, Matthew Taylor, who owns and runs Hollywood Exports in Preston, said he was looking to open a second store in his hometown of Clitheroe, in order to revive the ‘effectively dead’ high street.

Mr Taylor was adamant about finding a suitable unit for his second Hollywood Exports store, and is determined to have it ready for when all non-essential shops are permitted to open again on April 12, adding: “April 12 is the catalyst really and we are trying our best and pushing as hard as we can to get it ready for that date. “We are expanding the online side of things too and have taken on a new member of staff to help with that, and will probably be looking to employ three or four weekend staff. “It’s going to be a good year I think, I can feel it, the high street is going to bounce back really well.”

Renovations to the two storey shop, at 23 King Street in Clitheroe, are ongoing, but Mr Taylor said if any budding graffiti artists would like to practice their work on the interior walls, then they should get in touch. He said: “They can come and show us what they can do and even leave their ‘tag’ too, so there’s something permanent to represent them.”
