UK testing regime for incoming HGV drivers launches

 

Lorry drivers who arrive in the UK from today (6 April) must take a Covid-19 test within 48 hours of their arrival or face a GBP2,000 fine, the DfT is warning. The new rules are part of government measures to try to halt the spread of new Covid-19 variants in the UK. They apply to drivers and crews of HGVs and drivers of vans and other light goods vehicles, as well as applying to both UK-based and non-UK hauliers.
