THESE photos show a 4×4 ploughing through a flooded road as rain continues to batter the county. Pictures taken from Coombes, near Lancing, show the Toyota pickup truck splashing through the standing water caused by the ongoing downpour. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms, with delays to train and bus services expected.

Homes and businesses across Sussex could also be flooded “quickly” as a downpouring of rain is forecasted to last until Saturday morning. According to the forecast, there is a small chance that some communities will become cut off by flooded roads. A spokesman from the Met Office said: “Spells of heavy rain may lead to some travel disruption and flooding.
