Man in his 70s in ‘serious condition’ following Hampshire crash
A man in his 70s has been taken to hospital in a 'serious condition' following a single-vehicle crash in Hampshire. Hampshire Police were called at 11.06am on Monday morning (August 30) to a report of a collision in Churchill Way, Andover. The vehicle involved was a green Honda Accord.
: Andover A303 crash: Tributes paid to recovery truck driver killed in multi-vehicle collision The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 70s, has been taken to Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital in a serious condition. Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service (HIWFRS) also attended the scene.
In a statement to HampshireLive, a spokesperson said: "Firefighters from Andover were called at 11:08 this morning to a single-vehicle RTC on Churchill Way. "The car was on its side as the crew arrived, and SCAS paramedics were already on the scene treating one patient, who was later conveyed to hospital. "There were no other casualties as HIWFRS provided scene safety before returning to station at 11:45."
Southern Central Ambulance Service have been approached for comment. A road closure was in place from Walworth roundabout while emergency services dealt with the incident. The road closure was lifted shortly after 12.40pm.
