Three killed in serious accident on Andover A303
Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed that three people have been killed following a four vehicle crash that closed the A303 near Andover on Wednesday (August 25). A HGV driver, a 38-year-old man from Shropshire, has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving and causing death by dangerous driving. The A303 bypass near Andover has now reopened after the incident following accident investigation work.

Senior investigating officer DC Cate Paling said: "We are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision, or the moments leading up to it, particularly anyone with dash cam footage.
"In the immediate moments after the collision, a small white car with a black roof passed the scene and we believe they may be an important witness who we wish to speak with. "Anyone who can assist our enquiries should call 101, quoting the reference 44210338980." Both directions of the A303 Andover bypass in both directions were closed from the A3093 (Andover Walworth Park turn off) to A3057 Winchester Road (Stockbridge / Andover turn off) with queueing traffic on Wednesday (August 25).
A diversion route was also put in place through Andover following the accident.
