Three killed by lorry as they pushed faulty car off the road after A303 breakdown

A young mother and two people who pulled over to help her after her car broke down were killed when a lorry crashed into them from behind.

Alex Britton, 28, Tina Ince, 58, and Tom Watson, 30, died at the scene of the collision on the A303 near Andover in Hampshire.

Emergency services were called just after 8.40am on August 25 to a report of a crash involving a Vauxhall Astra, a Mercedes food delivery van, an HGV and a DAF recovery truck.

Britton, a mother of two from Portsmouth, was left stranded on the dual carriageway.

As with most A-roads, there was no hard shoulder.
