Live updates as A50 crash causes four miles of queues

An accident on the A50 is causing serious problems in Derbyshire and Staffordshire this afternoon. There are currently four miles of queues as Derbyshire and Staffordshire police have stopped traffic on the eastbound carriageway between Sudbury and Uttoxeter. Motorists are being told to expect delays after the crash which happened at around 2.30pm on Saturday, October 23.

It is not yet known whether there are any serious injuries. Both Staffordshire Police and Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit are at the scene, reports Stoke-on-Trent Live. Traffic monitoring site Inrix says: “The A50 eastbound is partially blocked, queueing traffic for four miles due to accident from A518 Derby Road (Water Bridge roundabout, Uttoxeter ) to A515 Station Road (Sudbury Roundabout, Sudbury).”
