Live updates as M6 lorry catches fire causing lane closures

We’ll be bringing you the latest updates as a lorry fire has caused all traffic to temporarily stop on the M6. The incident has also closed lanes on the motorway, National Highways reports. Lane one (of four) and the exit slip road are closed on northbound on the motorway at junction 21 A57 Manchester Road (Woolston).

There is heavy traffic being reported due to the incident with congestion back to junction 20 at the M56 Lymm Interchange. Traffic is also slowing down to look on the opposite side causing more delays. Emergency services including Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, Cheshire police and motorway police are currently at the scene.
