Celtic chase Iraqi international left-back Mohanad Jeahze
CELTIC are tracking Hammarby defender Mohanad Jeahze with a view to making a GBP2million swoop. SunSport can reveal the 25-year-old is in the frame to compete for the left-back position next season.
Mohanad Jeahze against NK Maribor in the UEFA Conference League
Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou wants a new defender in as soon as the summer window opens and highly-rated Jeahze fits the bill. Polish side Lech Poznan have already had a bid rejected for the Swedish-born Iraq star, who worked under ex-Rangers boss Dick Advocaat for his national team.
Hammarby, who are top of the Swedish league, landed Jeahze from rivals Mjallby in 2020 and have developed him into the most exciting attacking left-back in the country over the past two seasons. They flatly rejected Poznan’s bid last summer but expect more interest in him this time around from across Europe.
And Celts are one of the clubs monitoring him closely. Postecoglou will jettison Boli Bolingoli this summer, leaving a gap in the squad for someone to come in and challenge Greg Taylor.
Adam Montgomery will return from a loan spell at Aberdeen, but the Hoops want more competition for Scotland cap Taylor. Jeahze is out of contract in December 2023 and Hammarby won’t stand in his way if Celtic table an acceptable offer.

Meanwhile, A Celtic fan has honoured manager Ange Postecoglou by customising his Ford Ranger pick-up truck in tribute to the Aussie boss – and others have had the same reaction. Postecoglou didn’t need long to endear himself to Hoops supporters after taking charge of the club last summer. One supporter took his love for the Hoops gaffer a step further as he customised his CAR.
The Ford Ranger pick-up truck features the model’s name written across the back of the bed.
However, the driver has taped over the first and last letters so that it simply reads “Ange” instead.
And sharing of the car on social media, @RodneyFarmer captioned it: “Someone has customised his motor.”
