Man dies after collision on garage forecourt as police launch witness appeal

A man has tragically died following a collision on a garage forecourt this morning. It happened at the Premier Garage on Chester Road, Bretton, in Flintshire shortly before 8.40am and involved a Ford Ranger truck. Police closed off the area, while investigations continue and have appealed for witnesses.

Ambulance crews and the air ambulance were also called to the scene. The male was taken to the Countess of Chester by ambulance, but later died. A North Wales Police spokesman said: “North Wales Police are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision in Flintshire today (Tuesday, 3 May) in which one man sadly died.

“Officers attended the location along with ambulance crews. The man was subsequently taken to hospital where, sadly, he was pronounced dead. The victim’s next of kin have been informed and our enquiries into this incident remain ongoing.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called this morning, Tuesday 03 May, at approximately 8.36am to reports of a road traffic collision in Bretton. We sent one rapid response vehicle, one duty operations manager, two emergency ambulances, and the Wales Air Ambulance to the scene. One patient was conveyed to Countess of Chester Hospital.”
