Shocking footage shows lorry engulfed in flames on Scots motorway

Dramatic footage captured from the scene shows a huge fireball erupting from the vehicle as crews battled the flames. There were no reports of any injuries.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were called at around 3:15pm to reports of a lorry on fire at junction 4 Maryville. “Three appliances were sent to the scene including two hose reel jets and a thermal imaging camera.
“There were no injuries.” A Police Scotland spokesperson added: “Emergency services were in attendance on the M74 southbound at junction 4 following a report of a lorry on fire which was reported to police around 3.15pm.
“No-one is injured and one lane is closed.” Elsewhere, in a separate incident, we told how terrified guests spoke of fire alarm panic at a hotel — five years after a fatal blaze there.
