45 pictures from the first day of the Staffordshire County Show 2022
The agricultural showcase in Stafford is expected to attract more than 65,000 visitors over two days From monster trucks to livestock – this year’s Staffordshire County Show got underway in Stafford today. The annual event – which will also run tomorrow (June 2) – is expected to attract more than 65,000 visitors.
The event is back during its traditional time of June, as organisers had to move last year’s show to August due to the coronavirus pandemic. Families can enjoy a monster trucks display, show jumping, a parade of hounds, and the grand parade of livestock. Among those at the event – held at the Staffordshire County Showground – on Wednesday was Tracy Barker from the Samaritans of Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle.
Tracy, who had her dog Barry with her, said: “It’s my first year here and it’s really good, there’s a good mix of people and they’re very friendly. “It’s amazing how little people know about our services – we’re none judgemental, confidential and it doesn’t show on your bill. We’re not only here to support people but also to attract volunteers, it doesn’t have to be full time and could even be for as little as three hours a week and you’ll make a difference to someone’s life.”
Here’s 45 photographs of today’s instalment.
