Mr Selivrada pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of class B (namely Cannabis), possession of an offensive weapon, assault with intent to resist arrest, possession of criminal property, causing danger to road users, driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, using a motor vehicle on a road without third party insurance, and speeding.

Investigating officer PC Angharad Lake said: “Due to the proactive work of our Roads Policing officers, Erjon Selivrada has been convicted of a number of serious offences and a large amount of Class B drugs has been taken off the streets.
“To evade arrest, Selivrada assaulted a police officer and then ran across both carriageways of the A34, causing a road traffic collision between two HGVs.
“It was only luck that meant no-one was seriously injured due to Mr Selivrada’s dangerous actions.”

Upon completion of his year-and-a-half prison sentence, he will be deported to Albania. PC Lake also said: “Some may consider dealing drugs to be a quick and easy way to make money, however this case demonstrates that Thames Valley Police will always take proactive steps to take drugs off our streets and put drug dealers behind bars.”
Roads Policing officers were conducting speed enforcement checks on the A34 in Newbury on Thursday, January 13 this year, when they spotted Selivrada’s vehicle exceeding the speed limit at about 11am. Officers stopped Mr Selivrada’s vehicle, after which he assaulted a police officer to try and escape.
