Man in hospital with serious injuries after car crashes with HGV and van near Sandbach

A 30-year-old man is in hospital with serious injuries after a “serious collision” between a car, a van, and an HGV in Brereton, near Sandbach. Police were called to the incident shortly before 1.30pm, which occurred on A534 Spark Lane at the junction of Moorhead Lane.

Three vehicles were involved in the incident – a white Toyota van, a green Mini Cooper and a green Scania HGV. The driver of the Mini was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police Constable Gary Nicholls, of the Serious and Complex Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Enquiries in relation to this collision have been ongoing and we are committed to doing all we can to establish exactly what took place. As part of our investigation I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, the same goes for anyone with any dashcam footage. “I’m particularly keen to speak to a woman who was seen talking to the driver of the white Anne’s Pantry van at the scene of the collision.
