A338 at Collingbourne Kingston closed due to lorry fire

Police at the scene of a lorry fire have closed the A338 Collingbourne Kingston, between Tidworth and Burbage this morning (August 5). Emergency services are at the scene trying to extinguish the flames. A Dorset and Wiltshire fire and rescue spokesperson said: “We were called to Marlborough Road, Collingbourne Kingston at 9.46am this morning for a lorry fire, which has spread to nearby trees.

We have four crews in attendance, from Pewsey, Marlborough, Andover and Stratton. The incident is on-going so I don’t have any further information at this time.” Wiltshire Police tweeted at 10.30am: “The A338 at Collingbourne Kingston is closed due to a lorry fire.

The road is closed at the junction with Brunton on the north side & at the junction with Chicks Lane & Cadley Road.” Emergency services have been contacted for further information. Follow the latest from the incident in the live blog below.
